The main goal of this type of site is to meet people who we like and who meet certain important criteria:

What if there aren’t enough people signed up?
It’s very complicated and this is the case with many apps that are starting up and not yet gathering enough users.
The problem is that if someone signs up and doesn’t find what they are looking for, they will quickly leave and download a competing app.
Eharmony does not have this problem as it is a very popular dating site worldwide.

The high number of users is not everything and Badoo is a good proof of that. The site is very well known and has millions of users. However, due to the lack of a coherent strategy, the users are not very qualitative and that’s why our opinion on Badoo is not very positive.
The reason why eharmony gathers a qualitative community is that the dating site is partially pay-per-use. It is possible to register for free, to chat with some members but you have to pay to enjoy all the features of the site.
This is an interesting strategy because in a way they are giving up on a lot of singles who want to try their site but are not ready to pay. In another sense, those who end up subscribing to their offer are generally more determined to find love and/or know what they want.
Add to that the long personality questionnaire during registration and you have singles profiles that are complete and therefore of quality.
Add to that the fact that eharmony offers several ways to verify that users are real: verification by sms, possibility to do a video chat before sharing information with another member and the moderation team that is active. Everything is done to make sure that when you sign up on eharmony, the site makes a good impression with quality members.

The eharmony registration is very intuitive and the compatibilty quiz is done very quickly and easily with the help of many different steps that actually make us complete our profile in a totally cheerful and visual way.
This is an advantage that may seem a bit trivial but it’s very important to have a high level of user comfort. For example, our opinion on Bumble is that it is an app that has potential but is not always very pleasant to use, something is missing.
5. Free trial offer
What we also like about eharmony is all the features available with eharmony free trial, both on the website and on the dating application.
It is possible to see all the compatible singles thanks to the compatibility score, to see the details of the profiles such as the profession, the date of last connection, the number of available photos, and many other details at no charge.
So yes the photo will be blurred, yes you will not be able to send him a message unless you take a premium subscription, but it’s a good start from eharmony to convince you that the offer of singles proposed is great and quality.
Moreover, the fact that you have to take out a subscription to send a message is a sign of commitment on the part of singles to find a partner. This avoids the curious.
The other way to try eharmony for free is to wait for the 3-Day announcement!
Indeed, the platform organizes several times a year 3-Day weekends. During these weekends, all eharmony members can use all the platform’s features for free. This includes sending and receiving private messages.
When are the 3-Days held? Eharmony never communicates the dates far in advance. But we know that it usually happens during the holidays, when there is a weekend preceded or followed by a holiday… that gives 3 days.

The 3 disadvantages of eharmony
Despite very good advantages that I mention above, eharmony has inevitably less pleasant parts and negative points to mention. We have gathered 2 major drawbacks to share.

1. the price of the subscription
Clearly this is the point that holds back all the people who wanted to start using eharmony. It’s a site where it’s almost essential to pay to interact with people.
There is the free offer mentioned in the advantages above, but it has its limits.
You can’t get in touch with someone, see their picture or read their messages if you haven’t taken out an eharmony subscription.
Eharmony offers a free basic membership and three premium plan options based on six, 12 and 24 month membership timeframes.
The cost of eharmony subscription starts at $25.90/month if you subscribe for 12 months and goes up to $59.90/month if you subscribe for only 6 months. The price for 6 months membership is expensive.
We would like to point out, that this is important, the terms and conditions of eharmony are very clear: a 12 month subscription is binding and due. If you take a 12 months subscription and you use eharmony for 6 months, you will not be able to ask for a refund to get your money back.
So you have to make a choice between a long subscription period with a lower subscription price and a shorter subscription period with a higher subscription price.
Our advice is to chose the 12 month payment option. Even if you don’t use the 12 minus, this is still the most advantageous monthly subscription.
Please note that subscription prices can vary by $10 per month depending on the user profile and that promotions are regularly offered.
For example eharmony regularly offers a 50% discount on the price of subscriptions.
With a 50% discount on the subscription price, eharmony becomes very affordable and, for example, the Premium Extra subscription goes from $25.90 to $12.95.
2. A little too much competition between singles
Eharmony is one of the most famous sites in the field of online dating. Present in the largest countries in the world, the platform has millions of users.
This is an advantage but also a major disadvantage.

Because the competition is tough. There are a lot of people, so of course you have to stand out twice as much and that makes it very difficult, especially when you don’t know how to stand out properly in a crowd of millions of other guys looking for the same thing as you.

3. A reputation for age that repels a category of users
My last disadvantage only concerns the youngest among you. If you are between 20 and 30 years old, you know that eharmony has the reputation of being “a dating site for old people”.

In addition, a large group with the means often means a permanent investment in the most user-friendly development. You can feel it at eHarmony. Their website and their application are extremely well made and pleasant to use, a real pleasure when you spend a lot of time on it like me.

Of course, the disadvantages we talked about above taint the positive points a bit, but in the end it’s almost impossible to have only advantages.
The subscription is a bit expensive and you have to have some means to afford it.
And still.
There is a marketing strategy at eHarmony because the monthly subscription is relatively expensive but in reality if you take it over 12 months, it is immediately more affordable.
So our advice is: try it even with eharmony free trial version, you should not be disappointed.

From newest to oldest.
Used to dating applications I only tested eharmony in application. I have to say that it’s a shock when you go from a dating app like Tinder to eharmony because you’re not on fast dating anymore but on slow dating. You have to take the time to fill in your profile, to look at the suggested profiles and to read their ad to maybe send a personalized message. We are far from “I like or I don’t like the picture”. But at least we know why we are here, to find a serious relationship and in the end finding love can take more time than finding a one night stand. In any case it’s a dating app that I enjoyed even if I haven’t found a new partner with it yet, it gives me the impression that finding love is finally possible.
I bring here my testimony to the singles who may be interested. Nearly 10 years ago I met my wife through Match and I have lived many beautiful years. Separated since almost 1 year, I wanted to register again to Match and in the end I was a little disappointed to see that the site had not evolved much in 10 years! So I was interested in other sites that promise to make serious encounters and, in relation to my personality, eharmony is the one that caught my interest. The strong points that I found in the site : a lot of members (it’s important) and the compatibility system that saves a lot of time to look for singles but also to increase our chances to have an answer (and yes a compatible single who contacts you is interesting). The only weak point is the price of the subscription which is clearly higher than the other sites. But in the end if it is to live beautiful years together, with perhaps a family, etc, it is not as if we had this subscription for life as on a streaming platform. In conclusion, I rather agree with your essay and I also recommend eharmony.
I hesitated a lot before signing up for eharmony. When I typed eharmony reviews in google there are many bad testimonials that are scary: abusive withdrawals, bad experiences, etc. And on the other hand there are sites like yours that have a good experience with this dating service.

Anyway, it’s now up to me. I installed the application on my phone and I am connected to eharmony every day to exchange messages. All this to say that at no time have I been deceived by eharmony. Everything was clearly respected.
