Bumble Inc announces (good) Q3 2023 figures

After Match Group, it’s the turn of Bumble Inc, owner of the Bumble, Badoo, Fruitz and Official brands, to unveil its results for Q3 2023. Overall, they’re good, even very good!

Overall, if we compare the 3rd quarter of 2023 with that of 2022, all the indicators are green. Sales are up, mainly thanks to the Bumble app, the number of users is up from 3.2 to 3.8 million, and earnings are positive at $23.1 million, but down on Q3 2022.

If we add the figures for the first half of 2023 to those for the third quarter of 2023, we get the table below.

All that’s left for Bumble Inc to do is make $127 million in sales to beat 2022, which we think it will do without too much trouble.

It should be noted that while Bumble still accounts for a significant share of sales, Badoo is also up slightly, with sales of $54 million in Q3, after almost a year of decline. Bumble Inc. has no intention of abandoning this historic dating service, since a new version of Badoo, which we tested, has just been launched.

As for Fruitz, acquired for around $70 million, and Official for around $10 million, the future is more uncertain, and we’ll probably know more in early 2024.

In any case, the last quarter of 2023 will be decisive for Bumble Inc. If its growth continues, it could approach $1 billion in sales for the first time. And if not in 2023, then in 2024.
